My friend Mark Stolaroff is teaching his awesome ‘No Budget Film School’ Aug 4/5. I”m told t’s the only time he teaches this class all year. From what I’ve heard a great class with intriguing guest speakers, including last year’s Sundance Grand Jury Prize Winner. So… I thought I’d give Mark a plug: You can get a big discount if you sign up before July 21, and he’s offering a 20% discount for spreading the word. Just use Promotional Code: FBMS . Tom Provost’s Cinema Language class is the following weekend and special discounts are available to those who take both classes. WGA 101 Greatest Screenplays: The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948)

If you are looking for a shortcut, that means you aren’t a writer.  Great blog by kellyoxford…

Last week’s LATimes article ran in Chicago Tribune today.

SHORTCUTS!
The message I am getting from this is that living my whole life as a writer, writing for years and years meant nothing. Growing up as the annoying kid on the street who wrote plays and tried to force peers to perform…

I’m looking for an editor to help out with a polish of a short film (not one of mine, but one my daughter stars in. The writer/producer is a dear friend) There is pay, and there isn’t a lot of work to be done, as there are already several cuts done. We just need a talented, fresh eye. My usual collaborators are busy…and I’d love a chance to meet and work with someone new. Anybody available? Any thoughts?
